What a beautiful description of the countryside the author has given us. I felt like I was I was in the car with Kelli and Leighanne as they traveled over the cobblestone road. It was very interesting for Leighanne to run into her ex-fiance . I'm sure she was ready to change he mind bout helping her sister with the play. The bitterness still lingers over their breakup, but Leighanne doesn't know the real reason Jamison broke it off with her.Leighanne has come a long way to get away from something. Will she tell her sister what is going on? The closeness that the sisters share is wonderful and I liked that Kelli prays for her sister. Leighanne is the kind of character I easily related to. Her panic attacks have caused her great distress and I can understand how hard they are to go through. Will she find peace as she helps put on a play to help her sister out?
I have always wanted to go to England and visit castles. The author provides vivid details of famous places in England that make me want to hop on a plane and go there. Her historical knowledge is well noted as she takes readers on a tour of Sherwood Forest. Can you imagine seeing the magnificent tree that she describes? Jamison is a great character who will not compromise his beliefs. I admired his faith and how he stood up to someone who was trying to blackmail him. The story is wonderfully crafted to show how prayer can make a difference.
I love second chance stories because it gives hope to others. I am one of those who was given a second chance. I lost my way like Leighanne did and started believing lies. I had to reach the bottom of the pit before I would surrender to God. The book is short but filled with hope, forgiveness and finding your way back to God. Don't miss this enchanting story that has a bit of romance mixed in with strong Christian values.
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

Love Found in Sherwood Forest (Audible Audio Edition) Linda Shenton Matchett Carol Marino Lovely Christian Romance Press Books Reviews
I found this to be a sweet, albeit very short, romance story.
Leighanne gets a second chance with her ex-fiance Jamison.
Everyone except the two themselves can see they still love each other.
But they're afraid of being hurt, again, that they don't want to be honest about their true feelings.
I love the setting--England! I could just imagine all the British accents...a charmingly delightful little story!

Love Found In Sherwood Forest is a simple, easy to read, sweet romance with a little dash of mystery. As someone who loved reading Robin Hood stories as a kid I really enjoyed the setting. I mean, does it get any more Robin Hood than Nottingham and Sherwood Forest? And when the famed Major Oak was mentioned I was inspired to do a little further reading, talk about impressive!
One of the themes that really stood out to me personally was both Leighanne and Jamison struggles with learning to listen to God's voice and heeding His nudges. Definitely something that I think probably resonates with a lot of readers.
Linda Shenton Matchett's short book is just right for readers looking for quick escape into the world of the theater and the lovely English landscape, there's even a castle and a room with a secret...

This novella is a romance with strong Christian characters. I really like how Leighanne and Jamison pray and hear God's direction. The strength of this story, I think, is the location and all the interesting scenes around Nottingham and Sherwood Forest.
The story is that of a typical romance. Leighanne and Jamison have issues from their past and experience misunderstandings in the present. We wonder if they will get through it all to rekindle their romance. It seemed to me the ending came way to quickly for the plot line. We readers don't really know if Leighanne and Jamison can build a future together because the novella ends without letting us know.
This novella would be a good choice for a quick read, especially if you don't mind not knowing how the couple will work everything out in the coming days and years.
I received a complimentary digital copy of this novella through Celebrate Lit. My comments are an independent and honest review.
Like many, I loosely know the Robin Hood story, so reading a book that takes place in England and centers around it sounded like a fun read to me. I enjoyed the novella, and the unique setting and history involved in that location made it a good read.
I did not enjoy the characters as much as I would have liked; they seemed to be inconsistent, waffling back and forth about what they wanted, more so than seemed warranted given that this story is about their second chance at love with each other. Perhaps such an instance is more realistic, however, second guessing everything, dreading how the relationship may go south all over again.
I really appreciated the spiritual content and how the characters rely on God, even imperfectly. Dealing with career issues, family stresses, and health concerns tested these characters in many places. The constant reminders to seek God’s plan and let Him take care of the details seemed a natural outgrowth for the story.
Reading this novella was like a pleasant return to my high school drama days and reminded me why I enjoyed it so much the comradery, friendships, and the thrill of bringing a character to life. Those who have a history in the theater, especially amateur or community ones, will likely enjoy reading about this festival play and those who participate in it.
